Hedon Church Christmas Bazaar : St. Augustine's Church, Hedon is holding their annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday 22nd November in the Alexandra Hall in Hedon, between 10.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. There will be a small entrance charge. Stalls at the Bazaar will include crafts, a tombola, plants, homemade cakes, jewellery, raffles, games, a teddy tombola and a white elephant stall. Christingle candles will also be available and home made refreshments will be on sale. Go along to the bazaar and start organising your Christmas !!

Preston Church Christmas Bazaar : also on Saturday November 22nd, Preston All Saint’s Church are holding their Christmas Fair and Gift Day in the church hall, starting at 2.00 p.m. There will be a cake stall, a raffle, a Christmas stall, a white elephant stall, and a feed the birds stall as well as a Tombola, and stalls selling books and plants. Admission will cost 30p, which includes refreshments.

Hedon Tribute Concert : There will be a concert by the Humberside Police Band in Hedon’s Alexandra Hall on Sunday 23rd November commencing at 2.00 p.m. The concert is being held as a tribute to the late Mary Carr, for all the dedicated hours she gave voluntarily to the community. Tickets cost £2.50, which includes refreshments, and are available from ‘Nutmegs’ in the Market Place or by phoning 01482 896482 or 01482 899478.

Hedon Friendship Circle : the next meeting will be held in the Methodist Church Hall, Church Lane, Hedon, on Wednesday November 19th starting at 7.30 p.m., when Mrs. Sheila Gardener will give a talk entitled “Bound For Botany Bay.” As always, new and old members will be very welcome.

Advance Notice : Hedon Christmas lights : Friday November 28th will see the Annual Christmas Light Switch-on at 6.30 pm in the Market Place, Hedon. The lights will be switched on by the Mayor of Hedon, Cllr. Ann Suggitt and then the Christmas festivities will begin! Santa will be in attendance in his Grotto and there will be various stalls around the Market Place. Most of the shops will be open late (many with their staff in fancy dress to join in the festive mood!) and there will be rides, a bouncy castle, barrel organs and carol singing around the tree – everything you need to get you into a Christmas mood. Motorists will need to take note that St. Augustine’s Gate, Market Place and the surrounding approaches will all be closed to traffic from 5.00 p.m. until around 9.00 p.m.

Hedon Pentecostal Church meets every Sunday at 10.30 a.m. in the Jubilee Room of the Alexandra Hall, St. Augustine’s Gate; a Sunday School is also held at 10.30 a.m. every Sunday.
Paull : St Andrew’s Parish Church : Evensong at 3.00 p.m.
Paull Methodist Church, Main Street : no service this week – the next service will be at 3.00 p.m. on November 30th.
Preston: All Saints’ Parish Church : there is nothing from Preston in this month’s Deanery magazine, so I’m having to go on the previous pattern of services : this being the fourth Sunday in the month the service will presumably be Holy Communion at 9.30 a.m.
Preston Methodist Church : morning service at 10.30 a.m.
