We seem to be well into the swing of the summer fairs and garden parties and the coming week is no exception : Hedon Summer Fayre : The Inmans School Summer Fayre will take place on Sunday July 11th between 1.00 pm and 4.00 pm. (Inmans School is situated on Inmans Road Hedon.) Events at the Fayre will include a Punch and Judy show, craft stalls, various children’s rides, and much, much more. Refreshments will available and these will include cream teas as well as the usual drinks and ice cream for the children. There will also be a car boot sale in the school car park which costs £5 per car: as spaces are limited please can people wishing to take part ring 01482 896767 beforehand to book a place. The Summer Fayre is organised by The Friends of Inmans School and they hope everyone will come along and have a fun and enjoyable day. Paull Parish Church Garden Party : in case you missed last week’s details, this will take place on Saturday July 10th in the garden of 1 Humber View, the home of Mr. and Mrs Dud Hulme, with their kind permission. The event will be formally opened at 2.00 p.m. by the vicar and admission costs just 20p. All the usual delights of the village church garden party will be there to be enjoyed, and don’t miss the strawberry cream teas! Sea Sunday Service in Paull : this year Sunday July 11th is being celebrated as Sea Sunday and to mark it there will be a united open-air service at Paull, within sight and sound of the Humber estuary. This united service will take place on Paull’s river-front playing field, which has ample parking adjacent to it accessed by the lane on the right just on the southern fringe of the village (ask any passer-by how to get to the car park if you’re unsure.) If the weather does prove inclement the service will be transferred to Paull Village Hall, opposite the lighthouse. Preston Show : this year’s show
is being held on Saturday 17th July at the Sandhill Country Park, where
the gates open to the public at 1.00 p.m. Charity Auction in Paull : there will be a fundraising auction for Holderness Ranger Guides in Paull Village hall on July 17th. Items for sale will be available to view during the afternoon and you may leave a written bid for any items you fancy if by any chance you can’t make it to the auction in the evening. More details will be published here nearer the date, but just to whet your appetite, items in the auction already include good quality furniture, toys and nursery equipment, china and household goods, services (meals-for-two etc.) and even tickets for TV audience shows!
