Farmer's Bingo in Hedon : After the success of their first Farmer's (Pig) Bingo, Holderness Lions are running a second evening, again at The Haven Arms, Hedon, on Wednesday October 8th starting at 8.00 p.m. As before, entrance will cost £1.50 and for this you will get two books of ten tickets each. Prizes will be of sausages, bacon, pork chops and pork joints etc.. The Lions need your support to make the night as good as the last one. If you were at that event, you won't need any encouraging to go along a second time; if it's new to you, please give it a try - you never know you might just enjoy it!

Keep young and beautiful! On Friday October 10th the Hedon Branch of Age Concern East Riding of Yorkshire (ACERY) are holding a Ladies' Night - "an evening of beauty and Christmas shopping" - in the Alexandra Hall, St. Augustine's Gate, Hedon, starting at 7.00 p.m. Virgin Vie cosmetics are running the event, and all ladies are invited along to be pampered with facials, hand massage, nail art and alternative therapies as well as having the opportunity to 'shop till they drop' and buy cosmetics and toiletries, jewellery and gifts, crafts, Christmas cards etc.. Tickets for this fundraising event cost £2.50 to include a glass of wine and a free prize draw and are available from the Age Concern office on St. Augustine's Gate or by post from ACERY, Motley's Cottage, Motley's Yard, Beverley, East Yorkshire - a stamped addressed envelope would be much appreciated. Change of venue for Hedon and District Local History Society : The next meeting of the Hedon and District Local History Society will take place on Tuesday, October 14th at 7.30 pm in a changed venue: The Church Room, Magdalen Gate (the entrance is right at the back of the Magdalen Gate car park.) The speaker will be Richard Walgate and his subject will be memorial inscriptions in local churches. Everyone interested is invited.

Get your tickets early! Hedon Drama Group presents The Farndale Ladies ('If anything can go wrong, it will') in "Macbeth - the Farce," performing nightly at 8.00 p.m. in the Alexandra Hall, St. Augustine's Gate, Hedon, from Thursday October 16th to Saturday October 18th .
