Hedon 's civic silver has attracted the attention of the Royal Armouries. When Karen Watts, Senior Curator of Armour, visited Hedon she was delighted to have the opportunity to inspect the ancient Mace which is the pride of Hedon's Civic Silver collection. She declared the 15th century Mace, believed to be the oldest in the country, to be in perfect condition and a "prime example of a civic mace," the best she has ever seen. The Royal Armouries have expressed an interest in borrowing the Mace for a major exhibition next year and are now negotiating with the Town Council.

The Hedon Red Cross Youth Group made their annual visit, accompanied by Centre Organiser Anita Hall, Youth Workers Marie Jackson and Bunty Veal and Group Leader Jock Ogston, to the Hull Royal Infirmary on Sunday morning and the Hull Maternity Hospital in the afternoon.
