Week beginning April 26th 2004

Tripping the light fantastic in Paull : I make no apologies for telling you about this yet again because you really will find it entertaining, I promise! If you haven’t got anything arranged for the evening of Tuesday 27th April you could do a lot worse than pop along to the Royal Oak in Main Street, Paull (just about opposite the school), where the Green Ginger Morris Men will be performing once again, starting at 7.30 p.m.

Art Exhibition in Preston : there will be an Art Display in All Saint’s Church, Preston, from Friday April 30th until Sunday May 2nd inclusive, where you will be able to see exhibits by local artists done in all kinds of media, many of which will be for sale. The exhibition opens on the Friday with a cheese and wine evening at the church starting at 7.30 p.m., tickets for which cost £4.50, and is then open on Saturday May 1st between 1.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. and on Sunday 2nd between 1.00 p.m. and 5.00 p.m. Although it is now too late to add works to the catalogue, you may still be able to enter a painting or two if you contact the organisers early enough; details as well as tickets for the cheese and wine evening are available by phoning Richard Thorp on 01482 897372.
Do come along and see just how talented our many local amateur artists are, and who knows, you might even find a painting that you just have to take home with you! (If you want to buy a picture by someone you’ve heard of, you could even buy one of mine, they’re not too expensive!)

Hedon Friendship Circle : the next meeting of the Hedon Friendship Circle will be held on Wednesday April 28th in the Methodist Church Hall, Church Lane, Hedon, starting at 7.30 p.m. and will be a talk given by Mr. Colin McNickoll on the subject of Victoria Dock. All friends, old and new, are very welcome to come along.
