Pancake Day! Why not come along to Hedon this Shrove Tuesday and join in? The Hedon Royal British Legion Women's Section are holding a Pancake Coffee Morning on Tuesday March 4th in the Alison Hall, St. Augustine's Gate, Hedon, between 10 a.m. and 12 noon. The cost of admission will be £1, and there will also be a Bring and Buy stall.

Friendship Circle Meetings : The Hedon Friendship Circle meets regularly every month and has speakers on a wide variety of interesting topics. The next meeting of the group will be on Wednesday March 5th at 7.45p.m. in the Methodist Church Hall. This time, Christine Scott will give a talk entitled "Granddad's House and Miniatures." Advance notice is also being given for the meeting of April 2nd, when Professor Purdie will come to speak on Osteoporosis. This is an open meeting, and the last time Professor Purdie came the hall was absolutely packed.

Speaker in Hedon : The Women's World Day of Prayer is being held this year on Friday March 7th, and to mark the occasion there will be a meeting in Hedon Methodist Church at which the speaker will be Margaret Ainscough. Refreshments will be available and all will be most welcome to attend - men and young people too, this meeting is not just for the women!

Hedon Jumble Sale : Hedon Playing Fields Association are holding a Jumble Sale in the Alexandra Hall on Saturday March 8th between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. All proceeds from this sale will go towards providing a much-needed park for the community. All donations will be most welcome, as will be help at the jumble sale on the day.

Old Time Music Hall : A "Good Old Days" Old Time Music Hall is being held in Hedon on March 12th starting at 2p.m, in the Alexandra Hall, St. Augustine's Gate. It will be staged by British Stage Productions of Scarborough, and unreserved seats will cost £3.50. Refreshments will be available.

Flower - Power! Hedon Rangers Under-13s' Football Club has arranged to hold a "floral demonstration" by a speaker billed as "the Sensational Carl Wilde!" This fascinating evening will take place next month, on Friday April 11th, in the Alexandra Hall at 7 p.m., but you are advised to book early! Tickets will be £7, telephone 01482 898394 to book or for further information. All the proceeds of the evening are part of the fundraising drive to pay for the team's trip to Holland this year.

Hedon Pentecostal Church meets every Sunday at 10.30 a.m. in the Jubilee Room of the Alexandra Hall, St. Augustine's Gate; a Sunday School is also held at 10.30 a.m. every Sunday.
Paull : St. Andrew's Parish Church : afternoon service at 3.00 p.m.
Paull Methodist Church, Main Street : no service this week - services alternate Sundays at 3 p.m.
Preston : All Saint's Parish Church : Holy Communion Service at 9.30 a.m.
Preston Methodist Church : morning service at 10.30 a.m.

The new Vicar for Hedon and Paull will be taking up his post early in April but until then church services there are still liable to change at short notice.
