Hi! I’m back …. It seems quite a few of you have missed me and I’ve had enquiries after my health : I’m glad to tell you that I’m absolutely fine – well, I would be, seeing that I’ve been away in the Maldives…….! It’s the first holiday I’ve ever been on where I haven’t needed another holiday to recover - I went with my daughter and we had a wonderfully relaxing time. Back to the fray now, and back to writing my column again :

Hedon Friendship Circle : the Friendship Circle are holding their Annual General Meeting on June 9th in the Methodist Church Hall, Church Lane, Hedon, starting at 7.30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend this meeting and new members are always most welcome.

Hedon Flower Festival : a week of flower celebrations begins on Friday June 4th with a preview night at a cost of £4, with the church open on Saturday and Sunday for viewing. There is a choir concert by Driffield Male Voice Choir in St Augustine’s on the Saturday evening at 7.30 p.m. then during the following week there will be exhibitions of children’s work in the church. The festival culminates in the Open Gardens over the weekend of June 12th and 13th.

Hedon : St. Augustine’s Parish Church : Sung Eucharist at 9.30 a.m., Evensong at 6.30 p.m.
Hedon Methodist Church, Church Lane : Holy Communion service at 10.30 a.m., evening service at 6.30 p.m.
Saints Mary & Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Baxtergate, Hedon : Daily Mass times : Sunday 10.30 a.m., Monday 9.15 a.m., Tuesday 9.15 a.m., Wednesday 7.30 p.m., Thursday 9.15 a.m., Friday 7.30 p.m., Saturday 6 p.m.
Hedon Pentecostal Church meets every Sunday at 10.30 a.m. in the Jubilee Room of the Alexandra Hall, St. Augustine’s Gate; a Sunday School is also held at 10.30 a.m. every Sunday.
Paull : St Andrew’s Parish Church : Family Service and Baptism at 11.15 a.m.
Paull Methodist Church, Main Street : service at 3.00 p.m.
Preston: All Saint’s Parish Church : Holy Communion at 11.00 a.m.
Preston Methodist Church : morning service at 10.30 a.m.
